Our Approach and Objectives
We work in New York City and nationally to improve the quality of life for people living in low-income communities. We are the only community development corporation established to specifically address the economic, social and environmental needs of low-income communities.
Through relationships with colleges and universities, public schools, green business sectors and community-based organizations we develop and manage job training initiatives, leadership development programs, summer day camp and child care services throughout the five boroughs.
We work collaboratively with our partners to ensure that communities and programs are sustainable and that every person is provided with the skills, resources and opportunities to grow and contribute to their environment.
Lastly,we advocate for environmental and education reform on behalf of communities through our coalition building efforts. We work with local businesses, government and city officials to encourage public funding for sustainable initiatives within schools and workforce development sectors. .
